Concrete

Concrete is a medium that promises commitment: when it’s set, it’s SET. The materials do much of the work. Casting concrete is a form of painting: there are pigments, binding agent, and a ground.

Some of the pieces have fragile edges. I have avoided sealants as much as possible because they change the surface so much; the downsides of that decision are that the pigments can fade in bright light over time and the surfaces can be stained by spills. I can seal the concrete on request.
